PLANTING UP SOME FLAVOR AND FUN!
Monday, August 2
Grace Apartments: 8888 East 13th Avenue, Denver 80220
If you love getting your hands dirty, you’ll love playing in the dirt with residents at Grace Apartments. Begin by setting up supplies and then ring in Spring by getting creative! You’ll help residents paint small planter pots and plant tasty herbs they can enjoy all summer long. Leave no trace by helping clean-up the activity before you go.
When: 9 – 11:30 am

MAKE THAT GARDEN GROW!
Monday, August 2

There are 57 plots in the garden at Grace and each plot belongs to an individual family. There are many different nationalities represented in the garden including Burmese, Bhutanese, Ethiopian, Somali and Sierra Leone. No two plots are the same and families will typically grow vegetables that are used in their culture’s cuisine. We need your help to clean up the garden – everything from weeding, trash pickup, and clearing out compost piles will be tackled.

Everyone loves a little company and the seniors at Villa Maria and Clare of Assisi are no different! Bring some yummy refreshments to share with residents and get ready for a fun game of BINGO. Volunteers will lead several rounds of BINGO and spend time visiting with the seniors who call Mercy Housing home.

LOOSEN UP! IT’S TIME TO SPRING INTO ACTION!

Get moving and grooving with the seniors of Francis Heights! Help set-up the space, register participants before they loosen up, and then spring into action with them during class. Stretch out those muscles and then serve refreshments and snacks afterwards while enjoying their company.

Holly Park Apartments: 5524 East 60th Avenue, Commerce City 80022
Roll up your sleeves and help make the Community Building at Holly Park more organized by assembling new furniture and shelving for the Out-of-School Time (OST) space. Once the furniture is done, organize all their craft supplies and games to keep the space ready for fun!
When: 11 am – 3 pm

TAKE OUT THE PAPERS AND THE TRASH!
Lend your hands to help make Clare Gardens Apartments sparkle! You’ll be busy picking up trash around the grounds and washing windows in the community space. Your hard work will make you feel proud, knowing you’ll be leaving Clare Gardens looking it’s best!

FIELD DAY FUN!

There is nothing more fun than some retro backyard games to make you feel like a kid again. So, dust off those sneakers for an afternoon full of energy and lots of excitement with the kids of Grace’s Out-of-School Time program. Help set-up activities, guide participants through the course, and share in a good time!

GET YOUR TECH ON!
It’s tech time! Last year showed us all the importance of technology and for many seniors, this has been a barrier to staying connected with loved ones both near and far. Help residents get set-up with the basics to keep them engaged with their friends, family, and their community. Sit with seniors one-on-one to set-up email accounts, video calls, and online shopping tools.

BREAKFAST IN A JAR!
Breakfast is often coined the most important meal of the day. However, having a nutritious breakfast is too often a forgotten luxury for Mercy Housing residents. Help provide all the ingredients to make a healthy yogurt parfait in a reusable mason jar. You are sure to start everyone’s day off right with this yummy meal while enjoying some great company.

Food pantry services were a critical resource for many Clare Gardens families during the pandemic. Now the pantry needs a little TLC of its own to get back in tiptop shape. Spend your time cleaning the space, organizing food, and discarding expired items.

Hosting a donation drive will help Mercy Housing residents across the Denver Metro area. Choose a drive that’s close to your heart and recruit your neighbors, colleagues, and friends to help provide much needed items for families in need. All your donations will make a huge difference in the lives of those who call Mercy Housing home.
Book Drive — Drop-off Only
New and lightly used books and activity pads for all ages. Fictional, non-fiction, biographies, coloring pads, word search, crossword puzzles, and Soduko.

School Supply Drive — Drop-off Only
