Jun 21Top of the Class: Ismael Guerrero Recognized in Power Book Class of 2024
When Denver Business Journal announced their Power Book Class of 2024, it was no surprise to us that Ismael Guerrero made the list. Our CEO’s three-decade career is full of groundbreaking achievements in community development, affordable housing, coupling healthcare and housing, and developing innovative mixed‐income communities.
As the DBJ put it, “Cost-effective housing remains a challenge for working Denverites, making Guerrero’s role guiding Mercy Housing a high-profile one. The nonprofit is at the forefront of partnerships between public, private and philanthropic entities finding innovative ways to add to the affordable housing stock in Denver and beyond.”

The Rose on Colfax in Denver is an example of Mercy Housing’s comprehensive approach to housing, providing much needed affordable housing to families in a gentrifying neighborhood and offers early childhood education opportunities to the entire community.
