Mercy Housing Northwest Real Estate Development
Over two decades, Mercy Housing Northwest has developed nearly 2,000 affordable apartments in 47 communities located along the I-5 corridor from Bellingham to Olympia and in a number of rural communities throughout Washington. Our experience confirms that well-designed, well managed affordable housing, combined with supportive services, improves our residents’ economic status and stability and transforms neighborhoods.
Our development activity also creates significant economic benefits in the communities we serve. Since 2009, Mercy Housing Northwest has generated over $280 million in construction activity.
Current Developments Include:
- Mercy Othello Plaza, a 108 unit transit-oriented family development in Seattle near the Othello Link Light Rail station
- Eleanor Apartments, an 80 unit senior housing development in downtown Bellingham in partnership with Peace Health
Additionally, Mercy Housing Northwest is a good steward of our extensive portfolio, having completed substantial modernization and energy-efficiency improvements on more than 500 units in the last 5 years. Based upon the Mercy Environmental Stewardship policy, we have embraced Green Building and Green Operations practices in our real estate developments and property operations.
We are proud of our highly qualified design and construction teams, creating attractive, sustainable affordable housing developments that embrace local communities’ planning goals. Our predevelopment outreach includes local residents and surrounding businesses, embracing collaboration during development planning so that future residents are welcomed to the neighborhood.
Our experienced development staff regularly seeks new development opportunities. In addition, Mercy Housing Northwest partners with for-profit and nonprofit developers and owners.
