Letter from Shelly Marquez, President of Mercy Housing Mountain Plains

It is hard to believe it’s already Fall, as I reflect on what was an exciting end to summer. We wrapped up August with an incredibly rewarding Back-to-School Drive! We collected and distributed 600+ backpacks to the children who call Mercy Housing home. It is you, our friends and supporters, who made this possible and it is comforting to know our youth residents started the school year with the supplies they needed to thrive.

There is much to be thankful for this year as we broke ground on two new developments — The Rose on Colfax in Denver, CO and Northfield Commons in Fort Collins, CO. We’re excited to announce that we recently closed on Glendale Senior Apartments, a 144-home property for seniors in Glendale, AZ., which is due to be completed in 2024.

In September, we gathered for the Grace Apartments Grand Reopening, which celebrated the partnership, collaboration, and hard work that resulted in a completely renovated property. This two-year renovation included updated homes and new amenities throughout the community. We are incredibly grateful to our donors and partners who make these developments possible and allow us to expand our affordable housing footprint as well as preserve our existing communities.

With your help we can continue to provide critical and free Resident Services programs that help improve and stabilize residents’ lives. As we approach the year end, we encourage you to consider Mercy Housing Mountain Plains as one of the organizations you continue to support.

With gratitude and thanks,

Shelly Marquez
