Our first-ever Virtual Power of Home Fundraiser hosted on October 1, 2020 was a success! Together, we raised over $300K and counting for our essential Resident Services programming. Thanks to our community of loyal donors and supporters, virtual table hosts, event sponsors, board members and staff for making this a most memorable event. A special thank you to our program participants and residents for sharing such inspiring stories for this year’s program.
Global Support for Local Action
We were glad to welcome new and old friends who joined us from near and far, representing the east to west coasts – from Georgia, Illinois, Arizona and Texas and even international friends from Brazil, Australia, and Colombia. You all came together to support and help build resident resilience for the long term. With your support, our Resident Services team will be able to continue our work to:
- Connect every Mercy Housing Northwest family with a school-aged child to educational resources and technology access. This will impact nearly 1,500 school-aged residents.
- Evolve our Out-of-School Time program and homework clubs to be delivered virtually. Nearly 500 children participated in Out-of-School Time programming in the last year.
- Innovate through community partnerships, as we work with major grocery chains to solve the grocery delivery barrier for families and seniors cut off from accessing this service using benefits via an EBT card. More than 60% of Mercy Housing Northwest residents reported using Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) in last year’s annual resident survey.
