Mercy Housing Northwest’s Sterling Meadows property in Bellingham, WA celebrated its 15th anniversary this past month! The residents joined MHNW staff at the Sterling Meadows community center and celebrated together with a potluck feast and fun activities. In light of the festivities, local establishments generously donated a piñata for the kids and a delicious tres leches cake. Aside from whipped cream, the icing on the cake that night was an official proclamation to Sterling Meadows from Kelli Linville – Mayor of Bellingham, proclaiming February 23, 2017 as Sterling Meadows Apartments Mercy Housing Northwest Day, for 15 years of serving families in Whatcom County with love and kindness!

Residents expressed what the Sterling Meadows community means to them.

Congratulations to the Sterling Meadows staff and residents for this special recognition – MHNW is proud to serve our families with the respect, justice and mercy that our organization was founded upon. Thank you to Mayor Kelli Linville for this great honor!

As part of the festivities, parents and children had the opportunity to express in writing or a drawing what Sterling Meadows means to each of them. For many residents, we learned that Sterling Meadows is more than simply a community – it is family.
