More than 15 U.S. Bank volunteers, Hope House staff members and community supporters joined residents at the Johnston Center to celebrate the 2nd Anniversary of the completion of the supportive housing building. 

“We are so grateful for U.S. Bank’s ongoing commitment to the Johnston Center Residences,” said Cindy Holler, president of Mercy Housing Lakefront. “In addition to providing financial support to the property, U.S. Bank has provided volunteers to further enrich the lives of our residents.”

The celebration included lunch, resident testimonials of how living in stable housing at the Johnston Center has improved their lives, and tours guided by residents. While eating lunch with the residents, U.S. Bank volunteers shared financial knowledge and helped to build a sense of community.

“U.S. Bank helped provide the financing for the Johnston Center, which is part of the Mercy Housing family,” said Bill Bertha, president of U.S. Bank in Wisconsin. “We are fortunate to do business here and want to celebrate a successful part of the Milwaukee community – Johnston Center Residences.”

The Johnston Center Residences houses 91 individuals who were either formerly homeless with disabilities or at risk for homelessness in Milwaukee.
