There is no cost to attend the Power of Home luncheon. We encourage attendees to consider a gift of $300 or more. 100% of all donations will support our Resident Services program.

Our theme this year is Housing is Healthcare. A safe, stable home is the foundation to health and healing for people and communities.

Learn about and celebrate Mercy Housing Northwest’s 30-year effort to preserve and expand affordable housing for families and older adults across the Northwest. Be inspired and motivated to support our work to deliver high-quality, service enriched housing centered on our core values of respect, justice, and mercy.

Josephine Ensign headshotAbout Professor Ensign

Josephine Ensign is a professor of nursing at the University of Washington in Seattle.She teaches public health, health policy, and health humanities. She has been a nurse for forty years and has the lived experience of homelessness as a young adult. Her scholarship and practice as a nurse practitioner focus on trauma-informed care and health inequities for people marginalized by poverty and homelessness. Ensign is the author of Catching Homelessness: A Nurse’s Story of Falling Through the Safety Net, Soul Stories: Voices from the Margins, and most recently, Skid Road: On the Frontier of Health and Homelessness in an American City from Johns Hopkins University Press.
