205 Jones is a community comprised of 50 studio apartments for those earning 50-60% of the area median income in San Francisco. Originally built in the 1920s and located in the Uptown Tenderloin Historic District, Mercy Housing acquired and rehabbed the 6-story building in 1995. With funding from the Mayor’s Office of Housing and tax credits, 205 Jones received seismic upgrades and updated finishes while each unit was outfitted with individual meters and new kitchens. The efficiently designed property is planned with an onsight shared resident services coordinator to provide programming and connect residents to resources including a food pantry and community celebrations.
