Mercy Housing Mountain Plains receives a $10,000 grant from Bank of America

Denver, Colorado (02/04/15)–Mercy Housing Mountain Plains received a $10,000 grant from Bank of America Charitable Foundation. The grant is part of Bank of America’s commitment to help local nonprofit organizations that are addressing the critical issues of affordable housing and neighborhood revitalization in Denver.  Bank of America’s goal is to help individuals and families regain and maintain financial stability through access to affordable housing, preparing future homeowners, providing financial education or contributing to Denver’s economic development by supporting work that strengthens the vitality of the local community.

Mercy Housing and Bank of America are committed to generate awareness and help create stable, vibrant and healthy homes for low- and moderate-income families, seniors, individuals, and people with special needs. Mercy Housing is redefining affordable housing by not only creating a stable foundation where residents can explore their potential, but also providing practical Resident Services such as health classes, financial education, employment initiatives, and after-school programs for children.

“When people in Colorado can have greater access to affordable housing, Colorado as a whole succeeds,” said Jodi Rolland, Bank of America state president for Colorado. “Bank of America is working to revitalize neighborhoods because we know it’s a critical part of helping people find safe and affordable housing.”

“It is crucial to assist in driving economic development in Denver so we can build a healthy and vibrant community. Through this Community Development Grant, Bank of America is making a lasting impact and we are honored to be a recipient,” said Jane Graf, President and CEO of Mercy Housing, Inc. “Bank of America provides a great example of the potential of corporate social responsibility with this grant and a model for investing in nonprofits who are serving the critical needs of those in their local communities.”
