Oct 29Bringing Play to Life: A New Playground Takes Shape
It was a summer full of play for the kids at Decatur Place Apartments in Denver, thanks to a generous grant from KABOOM! and CarMax.The brand-new, state-of-the-art playspace transformed an underutilized area into a safe and engaging environment for children of all ages. Volunteers spent an entire day working together to build the new play space, which included colorful equipment, inclusive play structures, and interactive features.
What makes the playground so special? KABOOM! and CarMax included residents in the design process. The team met with residents of all ages to listen to their vision for what they want the play space to become.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to both KABOOM! and CarMax for their incredible support and vision. Thank you to Huntington Bank, which not only provided refreshments, but for bringing so many volunteers! We are also grateful to Councilwoman Torres and Jeanne Granville for their advocacy and support. The playground is a vibrant symbol of the positive change that can be achieved through collaboration and commitment to the well-being of communities.
We look forward to seeing the joy and laughter this new play space will bring to the children and families at Decatur Place Apartments, creating lasting memories and fostering a stronger sense of community.
