Jul 22JPMorgan Chase Foundation Awards Mercy Housing Lakefront $100,000
JPMorgan Chase Foundation recently awarded a $100,000 grant in support of Mercy Housing Lakefront’s (MHL) ten-year Moving Forward Together campaign.
“We are thrilled to continue our partnership with JPMorgan Chase Foundation this year,” said Cindy Holler, President of Mercy Housing Lakefront. “Through these challenging economic times, we are grateful that JPMorgan Chase shares in our mission to create stable, vibrant and healthy communities.”
This grant will allow Mercy Housing Lakefront to implement housing and economic development goals throughout Chicago in 2013. Specifically, MHL will begin or complete predevelopment work and project management for five affordable housing projects within in the Austin, Pullman, Uptown, North Lawndale and Little Village communities. These developments will ultimately create or preserve over 1,104 affordable units of housing, sustain 1,656 jobs, and provide housing for an estimated 2,152 people.
With continued support from generous partners, such as JPMorgan Chase, Mercy Housing Lakefront will ultimately fulfill the ten-year goals of the Moving Forward Together campaign to build or preserve 7,500 affordable homes, create 8,000 jobs, and prevent displacement or homelessness for 20,000 people throughout the Chicago and Milwaukee regions.
