Feb 10Full for the Holidays
Your support helps Mercy Housing residents to not only have homes but tackle food insecurity as well. By donating meals and food for pantries, people who may have once struggled with hunger are now full every night.
Over the holidays, so many pantries were filled by generous donations of food and goods. Potlucks and other donated festive feasts were abundant. These community gatherings are so important because they let Mercy Housing residents know that they’re appreciated and have what they need to focus on what’s beyond their next meal, their futures.
We can’t thank you enough for the part you’ve played in making the holidays special for residents!
What does it mean to be food insecure? When someone is struggling to avoid hunger or they lack consistent access to food due to limited money or resources, that person is food insecure. Seniors and children are especially affected by food insecurity in the U.S.
Food insecurity has many consequences. When someone must choose between buying food or healthcare, serious’ health risks build up and make their lives even harder.
You’re making a difference in the lives of people who haven’t had it easy. Thank you!
