Feb 20Emma’s unwavering drive for lasting change
Emma is a resilient, passionate member of the Mercy Greenbrae community in Lake Oswego, Oregon. Courage, determination, and an unwavering commitment to creating lasting change have defined her journey.

Emma began her adult life as a cast member at Walt Disney World, bringing beloved characters to life while quietly navigating the trauma of sexual assault. As she rebuilt her life, Emma pursued several graduate-level and trade programs, including business administration, secondary education, public administration, and licensed massage therapy. She did all this while working full-time and raising a family.
After surviving a second, life-altering assault in 2017, Emma devoted herself to a new calling, advocacy. She ran for public office twice, falling short both times. She was determined to use her platform to advocate for legislative change. Her testimony, alongside other survivors, before the Oregon legislature was pivotal in the passage of bills aimed at protecting survivors of sexual assault and holding institutions accountable.
Emma has held numerous leadership roles in Lake Oswego, Clackamas County, and throughout Oregon. Last year, on International Women’s Day, she launched a nonprofit venture called Survivors Collaborating Against Recidivism, a powerful step in her mission to amplify the voices of survivors and prevent repeat offenses.
In a major milestone, Emma was recently accepted into law school, where she will pursue her Juris Doctorate degree. She hopes to use her legal education to strengthen her advocacy work and deepen her impact on public policy.
Emma’s story is a remarkable testament to the power of resilience, lifelong learning, and the stability affordable housing can provide. We’re so proud to celebrate her journey and cannot wait to see what she does next.
