Apr 14Get Ready: The Cascalote is about to open
We are excited to open the doors of The Cascalote this summer, our first new affordable housing community in Arizona in 13 years! Located in Glendale, this community is named after the evergreen tree known for its beautiful yellow flowers.
The Cascalote will provide 148 homes for seniors, with at least 17 set aside for seniors transitioning out of homelessness or with a disability, and with a preference for veterans. The City of Glendale has been an involved partner on this community with Mayor Jerry Weiers saying, “The supply of long-term affordable housing provided through this partnership is essential for the health of our growing community.”

Boasting many amenities like grilling stations, picnic areas, community lounges, a fitness center, and even a Bocce Ball court, The Cascalote is designed to build community. In fact, the services offered for all residents are intended to promote a sense of belonging and independence within the community.
In addition, we are partnering with La Frontera, a mental health provider that serves individuals and families across Arizona, to bring onsite, clinical services to the 17 permanent supportive housing apartments at The Cascalote.
Although construction is ongoing with an expected opening in late summer 2025, the leasing process is already in motion reflecting the area’s high demand for affordable housing.
