Apr 14A celebration worth the wait
We’re excited to announce the grand re-opening of Western Winds, a 100-home senior community in Tucson, Arizona with majestic views of the Santa Catalina Mountains and Tucson’s desert landscape.
Gifted to Mercy Housing by Franciscan Ministries in 2016, Western Winds had significant capital needs, including the exterior siding, drainage, and roofs.
After an 18-month renovation, residents can now enjoy their updated homes that include new cabinets, counter tops, and appliances. Several upgrades, such as new windows and an enhanced exterior, will lower residents’ utility costs and improve energy efficiency by 15%.

“It is great to see this property receive some much-needed love, and seeing the residents enjoying their newly remodeled homes is priceless!” Diana Suquetz, the resident services manager said.
In addition, the onsite resident services team will support residents by providing additional resources like budgeting classes, health and wellness programs, and community engagement activities.
Thank you to our partners who helped with the renovation of Western Winds and a big “welcome back home” to the residents!
