This past October marked the 11th year that Mercy Housing Lakefront has partnered with Project Homeless Connect in Milwaukee to help people in need connect with housing opportunities and services.

Milwaukee Mayor Cavalier Johnson and County Executive David Crowley kicked off the event by sharing their commitment to creating more affordable housing options and services in Milwaukee for people experiencing, or at risk of, homelessness.

Many participants visited the Mercy Housing Lakefront table to get information about our housing opportunities in Milwaukee. Clarissa Cameron, Regional Director of Resident Services, began connecting those interested to housing and services at communities like the Johnston Center, which provides permanent supportive homes for people who have experienced homelessness. People who attended Project Homeless Connect received breakfast and lunch and were offered free haircuts, help with birth records, legal aid and expungements, flu shots, biometric screenings, winter clothing, and dental and vision screenings.
