Together with the changing colors of autumn, two Mercy Housing Northwest properties are also experiencing significant change! A six-month rehabilitation project commenced in August at MHNW’s Lake Village East and Woodlake Manor properties in Snohomish and Lake Stevens. These homes are undergoing both interior and exterior renovations. The project consists of five phases, each of which involves temporarily relocating the residents, and completing the rehab and move-in process, all within 35 days. Come February, when the renovation is completed, 88 senior and disabled units will feature new roofs, windows, kitchen/bathroom fixtures, and paint jobs, among other home improvements!

The MHNW relocation team has been hard at work helping residents through the process, whether it is ensuring residents have comfortable temporary accommodations or wrapping furniture. Our on-site Resident Services Coordinator, Meghan, has also been ensuring a smooth transition for residents who are temporarily relocating for a month during the rehab process. Luckily, Meghan is there to lend an ear and her time to meet with residents one-on-one for emotional support, or simply to ease concerns. She has also made an effort to continue scheduling as many activities with the residents as possible, including an arts & crafts day, where residents were able to create appreciation gifts.

Much progress has been made this month, and we are more than halfway finished with the rehab project. With new roofs, siding and exteriors almost completed at Woodlake Manor II, it’s looking like a whole new building! A big thanks to our staff relocation team – Obi, Su and Colin, for all your efforts surrounding this project. On behalf of all the residents, a special thank you to our contractors, Buchanan General Contracting Company for your partnership in this project. We look forward to February’s completion date!
