Sep 13Mercy Housing Lakefront Celebrates Back-to-School Season!
After a summer of relaxation and fun, young Mercy Housing Lakefront (MHL) residents are headed back to school!
To celebrate the kickoff of another year of learning, our family buildings in Pullman and Roseland communities hosted back-to-school celebrations.
U.S. Bank and Alvin H. Baum Family Fund generously provided funding for educational enrichment activities and school supplies so that Mercy Housing youth would have everything they need to start the school year.
The back to school festivities kicked off on August 20th, with a back-to-school celebration at our grandfamilies building, Roseland Village. Twenty students received backpacks filled will school supplies while enjoying snacks and games.
On August 31st, U.S. Bank staff sponsored a backpack giveaway; students at Pullman Wheelworks received 147 book bags filled with school supplies.
On September 1st, more than 50 school-aged youth from Wentworth Commons and Holland Apartments attended a back-to-school party that included food, math drills, book bag giveaways, and an art contest.
MHL will host additional activities throughout the school year at these buildings, including after-school enrichment and computer skills training.
A special thanks to U.S. Bank and Alvin H. Baum Family Fund for giving our youth a bright start to the school year!
