Earlier this year, residents from Mercy Housing’s Miriam Apartments in Chicago decided to feed their homeless neighbors living in tents under nearby viaducts. “Tents do little to keep out frigid lakefront winter winds, and inhabitants gave us an enthusiastic welcome as we set up our table and served a hot, delicious meal!” said Natalie Shannon-Hutchinson, a Case Manager at Miriam Apartments.
