On Give To Lincoln Day, Support Mercy Housing Midwest

give to lincoln dayLincoln, Nebraska (5/22/2015)— Mercy Housing Midwest is proud to participate in this year’s Give To Lincoln Day, a 24 hour day of giving on Thursday, May 28, 2015. It is a day for everyone in Lincoln to come together and show support for local nonprofit organizations that contribute so much to the great city of Lincoln.

Mark your calendars because we need your help! Please consider directing a donation to Mercy Housing Midwest on May 28, 2015. By doing so you will help provide safe, quality, service-enriched housing to thousands of Nebraskans. Mercy Housing Midwest provides affordable housing to 1,364 people with low to moderate incomes, including families, seniors, veterans and people with special needs.

Donating on Give To Lincoln Day gives your donation more power, as the Lincoln Community Foundation and their sponsors will contribute a challenge match fund of $300,000. At the end of the event, every organization participating will receive a proportional share of this fund, based upon their percentage of the total dollars raised. Additionally, throughout the day, the Lincoln Community Foundation will choose 24 online donors at random, one each hour of the event. These donors will have an additional bonus grant of $300 added to their gift.

“Give To Lincoln Day allows people to help their friends, neighbors, and communities thrive,” said Jane Graf, CEO of Mercy Housing Inc. “Nebraskans have an opportunity to make a real difference.”

Mercy Housing Midwest has five properties in Nebraska, three of which are located in Lincoln, and provides services that give residents a stable foundation to achieve their dreams.

Resident Services include programs designed to provide financial literacy, health and wellness education, community engagement opportunities, and much more.

About the Lincoln Community Foundation

The Lincoln Community Foundation helps donors who share a common interest—improving the quality of life in our community—create a collective charitable impact. The Foundation goes beyond simply making grants that advance charitable activities. They also identify current and emerging issues, channel resources to address our community’s needs, and help Lincoln prepare for the future. Individuals, families, businesses, and organizations create charitable funds that help meet the challenges of changing needs and new opportunities. The foundation works hard to effectively administer these funds.
