Thanks to PNC Bank and supporters like you, Mercy Housing Lakefront acquired River West Commons in Elgin to preserve 105 affordable rental homes for working families.
In January, Mercy Housing Lakefront utilized financing from PNC Bank to acquire 105 affordable rental homes at River West Commons in Elgin. There is a great need for affordable, well-maintained rental apartments for working people in the small metro areas west of Chicago, near transportation with access to jobs in both Chicago and the western suburban areas. Thanks to supporters like you, Mercy was able to invest and preserve these homes for moderate income singles, seniors and families.
River West Commons was originally constructed in 1962. Comprised of three, five-story buildings, the property contains ten studio units, 42 one-bedroom units and 54 two-bedroom units. The property is located within walking distance to the Elgin Metra Station and downtown Elgin. The location provides residents easy access to employment centers in Chicago and the western suburban areas.
