Mercy Loan Fund appoints new members to Board of Directors

Mercy Loan Fund is pleased to announce the appointment of Jaime G. Gomez and Maureen Warren to its Board of Directors. Mercy Loan Fund is a national nonprofit community lending organization headquartered in Denver.

“The expertise Jaime and Maureen have in the affordable housing and community development industries will provide invaluable leadership to Mercy Loan Fund,” said Julie Gould, Mercy Loan Fund President. “They will build upon our legacy of providing safe and affordable homes to those who need it most, and they will help us bring even greater success to Mercy Loan Fund.”

Mercy Loan Fund provides financing to hundreds of local nonprofit organizations, enabling them to build or preserve affordable housing in their communities. To date, Mercy Loan Fund has made 452 loans in 38 states totaling $242 million. Loans are made for both new development and preservation of housing for low-income people.

Jaime G. Gomez is the Chief Operating Officer for Colorado Housing and Finance Authority (CHFA). He has 27 years of experience in the areas of banking, finance, community and economic development lending, and affordable housing finance. Gomez oversees business operations at CHFA, including single family mortgage lending, community development lending (multifamily and small business), loan servicing, asset management and marketing communications.

“Jaime’s expertise in public finance, particularly his 14 years of service at Colorado Housing and Finance Authority, and depth of affordable multifamily experience will be a tremendous asset to our Board,” said Gould.

Maureen Warren is Chief Family Services Officer and Vice President of Lutheran Social Services of Minnesota (LLS of MN).  She has 30 years of progressively more responsible positions in housing and community development. At LLS of MN, Warren leads programs in counseling, financial counseling, youth, housing services, housing development and refugee resettlement.

“Maureen’s career has been largely devoted to economic and community development including affordable rental experience,” said Gould. “She has particularly focused from a lender’s point of view working with community developers which makes her guidance critical to our Board.”

Jaime and Maureen are a welcome addition to Mercy Loan Fund’s existing Board made up of individuals with varied professional experience and a shared deep commitment to affordable housing.
