On October 25th, Enterprise Community Partners and the MetLife Foundation presented the 2013 MetLife Foundation Award for Excellence in Affordable Housing to Mercy Housing Lakefront and Neighborhood Housing Services of Chicago at a luncheon at Roseland Place Senior Apartments. The 2013 MetLife Foundation Award for Excellence in Affordable Housing was awarded to four projects around the country. According to Dennis White, President and CEO of the MetLife Foundation, “recipients have created forward-thinking, resident-centered programs by fulfilling current needs and anticipating future requirements of the aging population. We are pleased to join with Enterprise in recognizing their leadership and innovation in creating replicable service models for the country’s growing senior population.”
The award ceremony was attended by representatives from Enterprise Community Partners, MetLife Foundation, residents, community supporters, and development partners. Roseland Place Apartments was designed by Landon Bone Architects and built by Linn-Mathes Construction.
Alderman Anthony Beale and Dante Sawyer, District Representative for U.S. Congresswoman Robin Kelly, both congratulated Mercy Housing Lakefront and Neighborhood Housing Services of Chicago.
In a letter read at the event, Congresswoman Kelly Kelly thanked the partners and said “ By promoting the long-term health and wellness of older residents, Roseland Place Senior Apartments strengthens our families and neighborhood.”
