The Spirit of Art lives on

By: José A. Vega, Senior Property Manager at Mission Creek

To celebrate the 30-year Anniversary of Mercy Housing, the residents and staff of Mission Creek Senior Community in San Francisco organized an Art Exhibit. The exhibit was displayed at the property dining hall from June 11th through June 14th.

With the music of a pianist playing, Mercy Housing CEO Sister Lillian Murphy, RSM cut the ribbon to open the exhibit which included photographs, paintings, marbling and modern art.

The art presented during these four days were an expression and application of human creative skill and imagination. The exhibit also demonstrates that although we speak many languages we can also communicate through art.

It is remarkable when you open the doors to the art exhibit and see what residents are able to create. The imagination is fabulous and the spirit is astounding.

Through the hands of the artists we see just a glimpse of the talent within our communities and we are very happy that we are able to provide a safe and comfortable place to share and display those talents.

I want to thank all of the artists and the employees of Mission Creek for their dedication in putting this exhibit together to celebrate 30 years of Mercy.
