Residents Go Red!

Residents and staff at our New Tacoma Senior Housing took part in the American Hearth Association’s national Wear Red Day earlier this month. Health conditions, such as cardiovascular disease claim the lives of thousands of Americans every year, and so our staff took it into our own hands to educate our seniors about the importance of living heart healthy. Staff organized the Go Red For Women challenge by hosting a information fair helping residents learn the risks of heart disease and provided resources with those that needed them.

Mercy Housing Northwest encourages our residents to stay active at our properties by participating in a variety of health and wellness programs. Daily walking groups, along with chair exercises and weekly yoga classes for seniors, provide and active socially environment, while concentrating on living a healthy lifestyle.
