Community Matters Newsletter – Fall 2012
Mercy Housing Lakefront (MHL) and Mercy Portfolio Services (MPS) continue to Move Forward Together to address the housing crisis and enhance the long-term economic competitiveness of the Chicago and Milwaukee regions. Together with many partners, we will build or preserve 7,500 affordable homes, create 8,000 jobs, and prevent displacement or homelessness for 20,000 people.
Summer 2012 Campaign Accomplishments:
- Completed the revitalization of 850 Eastwood Apartments, a 231-unit affordable family building in Chicago’s Uptown neighborhood. • Completed 50 percent of construction for Lakefront Residences of Grayslake, a 70-unit affordable senior facility.
- Continued construction to renovate Pullman Wheelworks, a 210-unit affordable family property in the Pullman neighborhood of Chicago. • Secured and maintained 1,097 vacant homes in the first quarter of 2012, through 180° Properties, and expanded services to Milwaukee.
- Special thanks to our 2012 philanthropic leaders who make this work possible: Bank of America Foundation; Citi Foundation; Michael & Loretta Clune; Denis B. Pierce; Deutsche Bank; Enterprise Community Partners; Fannie Mae; Helen Brach Foundation; Housing Partnership Network; JPMorgan Chase Foundation; National Affordable Housing Trust; Searle Funds at the Chicago Community Trust; U.S. Bancorp Foundation; and Wells Fargo.
We would not have reached these extraordinary goals without the support from numerous community partnerships, donors and volunteers. Thank you to these and all of our partners for your continued support.
