Dec 11Mercy Housing Lakefront’s Moving Forward Together Campaign Update
Thanks to many philanthropic and project partners, Mercy Housing Lakefront and Mercy Portfolio Services built or preserved 1,583 affordable homes, sustained 3,564 jobs, and helped 3,891 people to live in hope over the past three years.
With your continuing help, we will ultimately fulfill the ten-year goals of the Moving Forward Together campaign to build or preserve 7,500 affordable homes, create 8,000 jobs, and prevent displacement or homelessness for 20,000 people.
In 2012, our partners helped accomplish the following milestones:

Construction of 70 units of affordable senior housing in Grayslake;
- Completion of 75% of the renovations to preserve 210 units of affordable family housing at the historic Pullman Wheelworks building;
- Creation of the $100 million Mortgage Stabilization Fund and acquisition of the first 51 distressed mortgages to help families save their homes from foreclosure;

Completion of renovations to preserve 360 units (415 units total since the beginning of the program) of foreclosed property through Chicago’s Neighborhood Stabilization Program;
- Expanding 180° Properties throughout the region to employ 49 people, perform 15,062 work orders, and protect and maintain 3,963 homes; and
- Sustaining 1,528 construction jobs and enabling 3,891 people to live in hope.
