Nov 21You can make a difference for Mercy Housing Northwest
Two years ago, Renee hit “rock bottom” as she found herself homeless after escaping domestic violence. Today, she is an empowered single mom, on her way to a social work degree and giving back by volunteering for a local domestic violence crisis and advocacy line.
For those of you who were able to join us at our 2012 Power of Home annual breakfast, you heard Renee speak powerfully of her transformation. Her story bears repeating.
Renee turned around her life. Renee and her children were vulnerable and homeless. Thanks to the generous support of people like you however, she and her children found the power of a home that brought stability and opportunity. While living at Appian Way, she worked closely with the case managers and resources offered through Mercy Housing, going to job development meetings, and life skills classes. With the assistance of Mercy Housing, she enrolled in college and worked off campus with foster children.
According to Renee, “I am on my way to make huge changes in this world because of the stability Mercy Housing has afforded me.”
During these difficult times, your help is needed to create new beginnings for vulnerable people like Renee and her children.
You can make a difference by making a gift to Mercy Housing Northwest this holiday season. With your support, people like Renee can not only afford her monthly rent, she can learn creative ways to extend her limited budget, continue her education and skill building, and find a livable wage job.
