Two Mercy Housing properties named finalists for Readers’ Choice Awards

Two Mercy Housing properties – Harold Washington Apartments in Chicago and Savannah Gardens in Georgia – are finalists for Affordable Housing Finance magazine’s Eighth Annual Readers’ Choice Awards. Subscribers to the magazine can vote for either property online at www.housingfinance.com through August 15.

Mercy Housing Lakefront’s Harold Washington Apartments preserves 69 units of affordable housing for formerly homeless and disabled individuals. Affordable Housing Finance named the development as a finalist in the magazine’s “Preservation” category. The major improvements to this 100-year-old property increases the quality of life for residents and extends the building’s affordability for years to come.

Savannah Gardens, a multi-phase affordable housing community Savannah, Ga., is also up for the magazine’s Readers’ Choice Award in the “Master Planned/Mixed-Use” category. Mercy Housing Southeast partnered with CHSA Development, Inc., on this major revitalization project that will provide affordable housing for families, seniors and individuals.

Both properties are being featured in the magazine’s August issue along with other finalists.
