Mercy Housing Colorado thanks volunteers and supporters of Denver’s new Aromor Apartments

More than 200 volunteers and supporters helped Mercy Housing Colorado celebrate the dedication of the Aromor Apartments, a 66-unit supportive housing property for formerly homeless adults, on Saturday, May 16.

Volunteers dressed each apartment. Activities included hanging shower curtains, making beds, dressing kitchens and bathrooms, and decorating halls and common spaces.

Not only did these wonderful people give their time; many of them gave money, as well. Thanks to Capitol Hill United Neighborhoods, Capitol Hill United Ministries, Northern Trust, National Equity Fund and many individuals, Mercy Housing Colorado received more than $10,000 to help turn the Aromor into a home for its new residents. Students and staff from the Challenge School in Denver also held a toiletry drive that resulted in the donation of more than 3,000 items.

These efforts add to the already amazing support that Mercy Housing Colorado received for the Aromor. Funding partners include the Schaden Family Foundation through Denver’s Road Home and America’s Road Home, which has committed to giving $1.5 million. Mercy Housing Colorado will devote $500,000 of this donation to resident services at the Aromor.
